FAQ

Can I get a quote?

YES! Since everything we do is custom, we need to quote projects individually. Fill out the request form for us, be sure to include all pertinent information. (Garment, number of print locations, number of print colors, order quantity, upload artwork as well if you have it) The way pricing works is Garment cost + print price. Print price is determined by the amount of colors, locations, and total printed. We have price breaks set at 12-35, 36-71, 72-143, 144-287, 288-499, 500-999, 1000-2499, and upward through 15K+

Whats your turnaround time?

Simply put, it varies. Sometimes we’re a full two weeks lead time, maybe a day or two more. We’ve invested heavily into the fastest, time saving equipment in the industry. It’s pretty rare a job is in house more than 10 working days. There are historically very busy months for us. April and October we’re generally running non stop totally booked. December and January are generally slow and we can turn jobs same day. We love having the flexibility to shuffle jobs around as needed. As long as the garments are in, artwork is approved, we’re ready to go. We’re constantly shuffling our schedule every day. The amount of times we’ve missed a deadline though, is very low. We’re upfront, and will advise if we cannot get a job completed in time before we accept it.

My quote says 2 color print, but it’s only white on a red tee. Why am I being billed for two colors?

We under base everything on dark colored garments. Unless the customer really doesn’t want it, or we’re trying to pull off a more vintage look that is. Simply said, anything printed on a dark garment NEEDS a dye blocker. Something to prevent the shirt from poking through, making the print appear weak. Even white needs to be treated as 2 colors. The only true one color prints are dark ink colors going on light color garments.

Can you do all over printing?

Case by case, email us to talk about it. We’ll usually only take single color all over jobs. And be advised here, each and every one will be unique. It’s more of an art project than re-productive printing.

Why don’t you offer free shipping or screens?

Have you ever heard the idea that nothing in life is free? Well we believe it. We do not pitch gimmicks like free shipping or setup because none of that is actually free. Those who do offer free service, are usually getting it back somewhere else in the final bill. We’re very transparent about our billing and where it all comes from. Setup fees are also a one time fee. Re-prints carry no additional setup costs.

Can you print team uniforms?

YES, though we accept these jobs case by case.  Email us your requirements, we’ll go from there.

What is a discharge print?

It’s a particular print process where the ink “discharges” the dye in the garment. This process works best on 100% cotton garments. The result of the discharge process is a soft print where there’s no “hand.” After a wash, all you’ll feel is the shirt itself. No bulky print!

What is the difference between plastisol and water based ink?

Mainly the feel of the print. There are many shops out there that advertise water based ink being “eco-friendly.” We do not believe this idea at all. The ink manufacturers are swapping this for that in terms of the chemicals within. We’ll spare you the science and terminology for now. There are certain designs and garments that are better suited for one ink or the other. We’ll usually help make this determination in the approval stages of the print. Bottom line is Plastisol is far cheaper and easier to deal with. We can accomplish VERY similar results between the two ink types.

Can you match the pantone colors in our logo exact?

Yes! We use an ink mixing system from Wiflex and Magna Colours, two of the largest ink manufacturers in the world. Matching any color in the book is as easy as typing the number into their database, and getting their lab formulated ink receipe. However we do not match exact shades when printing discharge, we cannot control the dyes the shirt manufacturers use.

My order was short 2 shirts, can you explain why?

We’d love to! In the print industry, there needs to be a +/-. We cannot control when a shirt comes in from the manufacturer with a hole in it for example. Maybe the box got destroyed on the way in here and a few arrived stained. Bad dye, poorly sewn, run in the knitting, we also have accidents and misprints all the time. Simply stated, shit happens. The standard blemish rate in the industry (and here) is 2-3%. We do not charge for any blemished shirts. If you NEED exact numbers, we advise ordering a few extra, just in case. We’re very seldom able to reset all the screens to replace one item that was blemished.

Can you print one shirt?

Sorry, no. You’re better off searching for a company that offers DTG (direct to garment). If you’d like, we have some suggestions who can help. Just email us. Our minimum screen print order is 12 pieces.

Can you do a sample shirt for us to see before we place an order?

The short answer is no.  We’ll provide a digital proof on all print jobs before actual printing, but doing a physical sample is a major undertaking we rarely can fit into our production schedule.  Plus it’s very expensive for us to do so.

Are your backdrops Fire Certified?

YES! Our backdrops are printed on a FR material made by Berger Textiles of Germany. The material has been certified by 3rd party labs and carries a B1 rating which is necessary to be flown in most western EU countries. It’s a stricter rating than US requirements. We’ve also repeatedly had the material tested locally at Boston FD, who specifically need to test each material being flown, every time it’s being flown. We provide the manufacturer certs to you, as well as sewn ID patch on the back identifying the project. We also sew on a test patch as well. NYC is requiring a sample be cut from the backdrop itself as of late 2019. This patch allows for the test to happen, without damaging the drop. We can help. Just email us.
